think|haus will be presenting a workshop on May 24th about the Arduino microcontroller and interfacing different sensors. This is a basic introduction, so no prior experience is needed. Follow-up workshops are planned for later in the summer which will delve into more advanced topics including motors and wireless networking. Details of the current workshop are below.

ARDUINO IS AN OPEN-SOURCE ELECTRONICS PROTOTYPING PLATFORM BASED ON FLEXIBLE, EASY-TO-USE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE. IT’S INTENDED FOR ARTISTS, DESIGNERS, HOBBYISTS AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN CREATING INTERACTIVE OBJECTS OR ENVIRONMENTS.
Workshop participants will learn:
– What the Arduino community is all about
– How to interface a computer to the real world
– Simple programming for interfacing
– Really basic electronics concepts
Please Note: All the required hardware and software will be provided at the workshop but you do need to bring your own laptop with you. Mac, Windows, and Linux are all okay. Registration is open to those age 16+ only.
